Short version: Bayhop keeps your trip on your own phone. There are no accounts, no tracking, no ads, and nothing is sold to anyone.
1. What is stored on your device
- The bays you picked, your trip dates and the day-by-day plan.
- A saved copy of your trip and its weather, so it opens without signal.
All of it lives in the app's local storage. Deleting the app deletes it.
2. What leaves your device
To show you places and weather, the app asks these services for public information:
- Google Places (Google LLC) — photographs, names, opening details and reviews of bays and restaurants. Requests contain a place identifier, never anything about you.
- Wikimedia Commons — photographs, when Google has none. Requests contain the published position of a bay.
- Open-Meteo — weather forecasts. Requests contain the published position of a bay and a date range.
Like any web request, these services see your device's IP address. We receive nothing. There is no analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising identifier and no tracking SDK in the app.
3. Location
Bayhop asks for your location only when you tap Show where I am on the map. Your position is used on your phone to place you on the map and measure the distance to tonight's bay. It is never sent anywhere and never stored. The app works fully without it.
4. What we never collect
Name, email, phone number, contacts, photos, health data, payment details, advertising identifiers, or any persistent cross-app identifier.
5. Deleting your data
Delete the app, or use More → End this trip. There is no server copy to request deletion of.
6. Children
Bayhop is not directed at children under 13.
7. Changes
Material changes will be posted here with a new date.
