AI Captain
Terms of Use
Last updated: 26 August 2026
1. What AI Captain is
AI Captain suggests where to go on a sailing trip, based on weather forecasts and a database of anchorages and marinas. It is a planning aid.
2. What AI Captain is not
It is not a navigational aid, not a chart, not a chartplotter, and not a substitute for proper passage planning. It does not show depths, hazards, traffic separation schemes or navigational marks. It must not be used to navigate.
3. Your responsibility as skipper
You are solely responsible for the safety of your vessel and crew. Every suggestion the app makes must be checked against official charts, an official forecast, and your own judgement of the conditions, your boat and your crew. If the app and your judgement disagree, your judgement governs.
4. Accuracy
Anchorage data is compiled from open sources, geometric derivation and our own research. It may be incomplete, out of date or wrong. Shelter ratings are estimates. Weather forecasts come from third parties and are forecasts, not facts. We make no warranty that any place shown is safe, available, or suitable for your vessel.
5. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, PowerStack Labs is not liable for any loss, damage, injury or cost arising from your use of AI Captain, including decisions about where to sail, anchor or shelter. Use of the app is entirely at your own risk.
6. Acceptable use
Do not use the app for any unlawful purpose, and do not rely on it in an emergency. In distress, contact the coastguard on VHF Channel 16 or the local emergency number.
7. Attribution
Place positions and coastline data © OpenStreetMap contributors, licensed under the Open Database Licence (ODbL). Weather data from Open-Meteo (CC BY 4.0).
8. Changes
These terms may change; the date above will be updated.
