Short version: AI Captain keeps your trip on your own phone. There are no accounts, no tracking, and nothing is sold to anyone.
1. What is stored on your device
- The trip you planned: dates, boat type, crew profile, region, day-by-day plan.
- Where you tell us the boat actually is each day.
- The offline pack: cached anchorage data and weather forecasts for your trip dates.
All of it lives in the app's local storage. Deleting the app deletes it.
2. What leaves your device
Weather requests only. We fetch forecasts from Open-Meteo (open-meteo.com) using the coordinates of anchorages in your chosen region. Those are fixed published positions, not your location. Open-Meteo receives a coordinate and a date range.
Nothing else. No analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising identifiers, no third-party SDKs.
3. Location
If you grant location permission, your position is used only to show where you are relative to your plan, on your device. It is never transmitted and never stored beyond the current screen. The app works fully without it.
4. What we never collect
Name, email, phone number, contacts, photos, health data, payment details, advertising identifiers, or any persistent cross-app identifier.
5. Deleting your data
Delete the app, or use More → End this trip to clear the current trip and its offline pack. There is no server copy to request deletion of.
6. Children
AI Captain is not directed at children under 13.
7. Safety notice
AI Captain is a planning aid. It is not a navigational aid and must not be used for navigation. Always verify with official charts, current Notices to Mariners and an official forecast. The skipper is solely responsible for the safety of the vessel and crew.
8. Changes
Material changes will be posted here with a new date.
