Whisker: Cat Translator

These terms are a contract between you and PowerStack Labs, operated by Gökhan Aksoy ("we", "us"), the publisher of Whisker: Cat Translator. By using the app you agree to them, alongside Apple's Standard End User Licence Agreement. If you don't agree, don't use the app.
1. What Whisker is — and isn't
Whisker is entertainment. Its translations are playful interpretations based on common cat-behaviour patterns (sound pitch, length, repetition, time of day, and the body-language cues you select). They are not a literal translation of what your cat thinks, and they are not veterinary, medical or behavioural advice. If your cat seems ill, in pain or distressed, contact a veterinarian.
The Soundboard and Speak features play sounds to your cat. Keep the volume moderate and stop if your cat seems stressed.
2. Licence
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use Whisker on Apple devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial use, as permitted by Apple's usage rules. You may not copy, modify, reverse-engineer, resell or redistribute the app, except where the law says you can regardless of this clause.
3. Free use and Whisker Pro
Whisker can be used for free with a daily limit on translations. Whisker Pro is an auto-renewing subscription, offered weekly or yearly, that removes the limit and unlocks Speak, the full Soundboard, and full diary history and patterns. Prices are shown in the app before you buy, in your local currency.
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase.
- The subscription renews automatically at the same price and period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within the 24 hours before the period ends.
- If a free trial is offered, it converts to a paid subscription at the end of the trial unless cancelled at least 24 hours before it ends. Any unused part of a trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
- Manage or cancel in Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
- Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies, at reportaproblem.apple.com. We cannot issue refunds ourselves, but contact us if something went wrong and we will help.
4. Your data
Your diary and cat profile are stored on your device only; there is no account or cloud sync, and we cannot restore them. See the privacy policy.
5. Availability and changes
We may update, change or discontinue Whisker or any feature at any time. If we withdraw the app, refunds for remaining subscription time are handled by Apple.
6. No warranty
Whisker is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind to the fullest extent the law allows. We don't promise it will detect every cat sound, be uninterrupted, or be error-free.
7. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost data. Our total liability to you is limited to the amount you have paid for Whisker in the last 12 months. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded. If you are a consumer, you keep all statutory rights your local law gives you.
8. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. Material changes will be reflected in the date above. Continuing to use Whisker after a change means you accept the new terms.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere, you may also bring proceedings in your own country.
